James Earl "Buddy" Isom, 68, of 5143-B London Church Rd., Elm City, NC died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at his residence.Mr. Isom was Chairman of the trustee Board of Johnson Chapel Baptist Church. He was a devoted family man and a great friend to many. Buddy as he was affectionately called was a fifteen tear employee of Edwards Funeral Home and will be sadly missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Martha Jean Joyner Isom of the home, and five children,Sidney, Marilea Arquilla, James Lee and Alvin and a host of other relatives and many friends. The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 1:00pm at Johnson Chapel Baptist Church 317 Beauvue Rd. Elm City, NC with Rev. Roderick Tillery officiating. Interment will follow in William Chapel Cemetery Elm City,NC.Public viewing will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the funeral home from 2-7pm with the family receiving friends from 6-7pm. All remarks and condolences are requested at the wake as there will be no remarks at the funeral service. Family and friends will assemble on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 12noon at the residence for the processional.
