NORTH CAROLINA – Billy K. Williams, 71, passed away on November 4, 2020 at University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents David and Betty Williams.

Billy was born June 16, 1949, in Wilson North Carolina where he was reared and educated. He was the fourth child of five children of David D. Williams and Betty C. (Campbell) Williams.

Billy graduated from Ralph L. Fike High School, Class of 1969. Following graduation, he relocated to New Jersey where he meets Claudia Virgen "Viji" Knowles. Thereafter they wedded and were married for 42 years.

Billy was employed several years as a Custodian for the public-school system in New Jersey. He also sought employment as a Commercial Bus Driver and as a trained Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Mechanic. Billy was a talented musician and in his spare time he performed as a keyboardist and musical vocalist for groups, booked events and churches.

Upon his and his wife's relocation back to Wilson, North Carlina; Billy became a loyal member of the Masonic Brotherhood Coop WM 484 Lodge. He was a loving and caring husband and father. He inherited his mother's gift of culinary skills where he would selflessly share his talents and culinary gifts to entertain family and friends which affectionately noted him amongst his family and peers as a people person.

Billy is lovingly survived in legacy by his wife, Claudia Williams of Wilson, NC; his 4 children, Shalonda Williams; Mr. & Mrs. David Nelson Williams of Ohio; Mr. & Mrs. Gabriel Cutis Williams of Ohio; Yojany D. Mejias of New Jersey; his siblings, Mr. & Mrs. David L. Williams of Wilson, NC; Mr. & Mrs. Richard Williams of Greensboro, NC; Mrs. Betty Joyce Vaughn of PA; Mr. Willie Williams of Wilson, NC; 5 grandchildren and a host of loving family members, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial arrangements are being handled by Edwards Funeral Home and are pending.
