She was preceded in death by her parents, Joshua and Eula Thorne, three siblings: Oliver Thorne, Margie Taylor and Joshua Thorne, Jr. She is survived by six sisters: Margaret Jean Wilson of NJ, Evon Lathan, Joyce Dupree, Eula Doris Wright all of Wilson NC, Shirley Lassiter [Marcellus] of the home, and Ruth Thorne of NY; and two brothers, Jimmie Thorne [Amshaw] of Ghana, West Africa and Timothy Thorne [Linda] of Wilson NC. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 1107 Courtland Drive, NW Wilson, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Services are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home, Wilson North Carolina.
