Mrs. Bettie L. Pender Edwards, 74 of Lowell, MA and formerly of Wilson NC, died on Monday, June 28, 2021. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Bishop LN Forbes Lane, Wilson, NC with Minister Orlando Pender, Jr., officiating. Obituary

Bettie L. (Pender) Edwards, 74 of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 28, 2021. She was the beloved widow of the late Willie L. Edwards, Jr. who passed away in 2005.

Bettie was one of twelve children born to Orlando Pete Pender and Nina Mae (Jennette) Pender. She was born on October 12, 1946 in Wilson, North Carolina, where she was raised and educated.

For many years, she made her home in Lowell, where she had previously worked for the Boys and Girls Club. More recently, she was employed at Market Basket until illness forced her retirement.

Bettie loved her family, and spending time with her children and grandchildren was the highlight of her life. She also enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo, and was an avid Boston Sports Fan.

In addition to her mother, Nina Mae Pender of Wilson, NC, her survivors include: her children, Ernest Edwards and his wife, Kelley, of Somersworth, NH and Anthony Edwards of Nashua, NH; two grandsons, Dominic and Dillon Plourde of Goffstown, NH; and surviving brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
